When we take on a new client we have already spent some time with you on the phone determining where you feel the issues lie and what you feel you need. During this discovery phase you will be working almost exclusively with our owner Vanessa Bowker. She will take notes and make suggestions on how best to get things cleaned up and squared away. During this period we will come up with a game plan for the necessary steps to get your bookkeeping organized and, if necessary, cleaned up.
Out next step, which can be the most time consuming, is a thorough review of your Chart of Accounts, your Profit and Loss Statement, and your Balance Sheet. These reviews allow us to catch any errors that exist in your books. This process is something that is only handled by the owner of My NYC Bookkeeper. This review period will involve a fair amount of contact with our new clients while we get the books cleaned up and get the game plan in place so that we know where we are going from here.
Once we have a clean set of books we move forward to monthly bookkeeping. We are over the hump here and now have a clean process set up. This is when things become rote and our clients start to feel the process and know that they can trust in the process. You have now reached the point that you no longer feel a nagging sense that your books are in disarray. You feel a sense of relief at this point. And now you can get back to running your business. Or growing your business. Or living your life.
Our monthly processes obviously will be different for all clients as we truly cater our services to what our individual client’s needs. Our owner, Vanessa Bowker, has nearly 30 years experience in accounting and has a mean attention to detail. She loves to come up with a business game plan to get your books on auto pilot and finds great pride in keeping things running efficiently. We are extremely calendar driven and we absolutely know at all times where each and every one of clients are in their monthly accounting cycle. You can be confident that My NYC Bookkeeper is not going to let a task go undone; it is virtually impossible with the checks and balances we have in place.
